About

Laura Pothoven is a self-taught Canadian artist whose acrylic paintings are a vibrant celebration of joy, nature, and the sacred beauty of everyday life. Inspired by the colorful flowers in her garden, Alberta’s wide prairie skies, and the quiet wonder of ordinary moments, her work invites viewers to pause, smile, and reconnect with what matters most.

Drawing from her background in nursing and leadership, Laura brings a deep sense of compassion, presence, and emotional storytelling into her art. Her pieces often reflect the themes of resilience, gratitude, and spiritual reflection—each brushstroke a gentle reminder of light and hope in the mundane.

Based in Alberta, Laura works from her home studio under the name Laura Pothoven Art, where she shares her creative process and joy-filled paintings with collectors and art lovers across Canada and beyond.

Creativity is a magical force that resides within us, waiting to be tapped into. It is the key that unlocks new worlds, transforms the mundane into the extraordinary, and brings beauty to the world. Creativity allows you to break free from the mold and embrace your unique voice in a world that often values conformity. It empowers you to think differently, to challenge the status quo, and to dare to dream beyond the boundaries of the ordinary. Creativity is not a destination but a journey of exploration and self-expression.
